After her medical degree at the University of Amsterdam, Dr. Marjolein Ronday conducted scientific research on internal eye inflammation (uveitis) in Africa resulting in the dissertation "Uveitis in Africa, with Emphasis on Toxoplasmosis." Following this, she was trained as an ophthalmologist at the FC Donders Institute of Ophthalmology in Utrecht, the Netherlands. From 2001 to 2015, she worked at the Flevo Hospital in Almere where she was department chairman for a long time.

Since January 2016, ophthalmologist Marjolein Ronday has been working within Bergman Clinics | Eye Care. She is a member of the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ESCRS), the Dutch Ophthalmological Society (NOG) and is a member of The Uveitis Working Group, Tropical Ophthalmology and the Dutch Intra-Ocular Implant Club (NIOIC).
