Een borstlift  vindt altijd plaats onder algehele narcose en duurt ongeveer een uur. Via een incisie (snede) rond de tepel, naar beneden toe en in de borstplooi (als het ware een anker) wordt de tepel verplaatst en de overtollige huid verwijderd. Indien een implantaat wordt gebruikt is er zelden een snede in de borstplooi nodig en is het litteken dus aanzienlijk korter.

Afhankelijk van uw lichaamsbouw en het soort implantaat, wordt het implantaat achter of voor uw borstspier geplaatst.
