Dr. Claudia Kowalik (1979) studied Medicine at the University of Amsterdam and completed her training as a gynecologist at Amsterdam UMC, the Spaarne Gasthuis and Bergman Clinics (2006-2013). During her specialization as a gynecologist, she became fascinated by pelvic floor problems. During the last year of her specialization, she studied these issues in depth and after her training as a gynecologist, she further specialized as a fellow in Urogynaecology.
Read moreDr. Kowalik is heavily involved in scientific research into innovative techniques within pelvic floor care. She has conducted research on the use of (vaginal) implants for the treatment of prolapse and on the treatment of urinary incontinence with an injectable implant. These studies led to the thesis "New insights into pelvic floor implants" on which she received her PhD from the University of Amsterdam in 2023.
Activities
Doctor Kowalik regularly lectures at (international) conferences and several scientific publications have appeared by her. She teaches physicians and gynecologists in training and provides continuing education for medical specialists.
Since 2013, Dr. Kowalik has worked as a gynecologist at Bergman Clinics | Woman at the Amsterdam location and as a gynecology staff member at Amsterdam UMC (Amsterdam).
